Daily Devotion – December 2

Day 336 – December 2

God with us

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14

Isaiah 7 is so powerful because around 700 years before Jesus would come from Mary (a virgin), Isaiah prophesied this would happen exactly as it did. Whenever people question the impact of how Jesus came and what all He did while on earth, they miss the Old Testament part of the equation. There isn’t a single prophecy written about the coming Messiah in the Old Testament that Jesus didn’t fulfill when He came.

Whenever doubt enters our minds, there are a few reasons it takes place. We doubt God is truly with us, and we doubt God is going to keep being with us. The Christmas story reminds us that God not only sent His son 2,000 years ago, but over 2,700 years ago He said it was going to happen and He knew all this would happen before He said, “Let there be light.” God is truly with us because Immanuel came and gave us the ability to be with Him, so whatever struggle or difficulty in the Christmas season you may be facing, know you’re not facing it alone. God is with you. May His joy be in you and your joy be full!

We’re more than conquerors in Christ.
