Daily Devotion – December 25

Day 359 – December 25

God with us

“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” (He is with us)
Matthew 1:21

Merry Christmas!

On this day as we get up with our families and enjoy our traditions and fun together, it is always important for us to focus on what matters most. Songs and messages have been made over the years proclaiming “Jesus is the reason for the season,” and that is absolutely true. But it’s even more than that, isn’t it? Jesus is the season, He is the point, and He is the only one that can truly change our lives for the better. Every time those car commercials come on, the people in them get so excited about the new car they have in the driveway it’s hard not to laugh and think, “That’s awesome. I hope those guys are excited about that $500 a month payment they just inherited.” Jesus and His love for us isn’t like that at all. When we trust Him as Lord and begin to walk with Him, we don’t make monthly payments. He already made the payments and we celebrate that scene in the manger of baby Jesus being born, coming to earth, destined to die for us all so we could live in Him. God’s love and His incredible sacrifice and exchange for us is what all of this is truly about. He is so much more amazing than we can possibly comprehend. So may you have the most amazing, merry Christmas this year ever and may we all be grateful for the gift that came to live and die so we could live in Him. Thank you, Jesus!

We’re more than conquerors in Christ.
