Daily Devotion – December 26

Day 360 – December 26

God with us

“You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.”
Romans 8:9

Have you ever noticed the answer to issues we face is often not found in outside help but how we look inside? If we look at ourselves from a place of defeat and being overcome, we will certainly live defeated and be overcome with emotions and drama our entire lives. But all of us who are in Christ are not just our old, sinful selves because we have Christ reigning in us and His Spirit guiding our lives. Whenever people say, “I don’t feel like God is anywhere around me,” I think to myself, “Well, that isn’t possible!” We may not be aware of God living in and working all around us, but He is in us and with us at all times. There are times Leah and I don’t “feel in love,” but our love for each other doesn’t change because we don’t “feel” in love at that moment. In times we don’t feel in love with God, remembering Him and who He is in our lives will change how we feel and will cause us to thank and praise Him in all circumstances. You are not the sum of your worst mistakes, we are the righteousness of God raised in Christ Jesus to do the work of our heavenly father who sent Jesus to us and left His Spirit to dwell and and work through us. When that becomes more than what we know and becomes our reality our lives will change and we will become more than more like Jesus everyday.

We’re more than conquerors in Christ.
