Day 270 – September 28
“But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian, for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.”
If you grew up with siblings, you probably had the conversation, “Which one of us is mom and dad’s favorite?” The truth is we probably all argued both sides depending on which day it was and what we had done. Being the favorite child shouldn’t be our goal, but human nature is a funny thing, isn’t it!? We may not always desire to be the favorite child, but it feels good to feel like you’re at the head of the line. When it comes to our relationship with Christ, the reality is that all of us are equal in the eyes of God. That doesn’t mean He doesn’t give different gifts, personalities and destinies to each one of us. He does! But if I operate in mine and you operate in yours, God doesn’t keep a cosmic score board checking how many times I fall away. He built us for a specific, kingdom purpose and my being important isn’t in that equation. In Christ, we are all His children. We can honor men and women of God who lead us in worship, preaching, teaching, or any other ministry, but they are no greater than any other person. God doesn’t ever want us to miss His glory to gain someone else’s! You are an amazing gift to the world because of Christ. Don’t try to be less or more than God made you to be. Operate in your person and in your gifts in Christ and leave the selfishness to the ones who aren’t comfortable in their own skin.
We’re more than conquerors in Christ.
